Mid Century Modern Entry Bench

Our house was in sore need of a place for people to enter and take off/put on shoes. This bench solved that need, and also stocks some items we commonly use.

Made from almost entirely black cherry, this bench is constructed using floating mortise and tenon joinery for strength. This project was my first time putting together anything not at right angles, and was also my first time using a new finishing process that has become a staple of my builds, a process described by Erik Curtis.
